2015-2017 The SÖI Collective was a Shipibo-Conibo research center and graphic workshop dedicated to compiling the Shipibo-Conibo artistic legacy related to Kené design. It was formed by four women artists: three Shipibo-Conibo artists based in the Cantagallo community in Lima—Wilma Maynas / Pekunruna (from the community of Panaillo, Bajo Ucayali), Silvia Ricopa / Roníncaisy (from the Vista Alegre community of Masisea), and Olinda Silvano / Reshinjabe (from the Paoyhan community)—in a peer-to-peer process with conceptual artist Alejandra Ballón / Ronínyaca (Arequipa). Together, they combined their methodologies and symbolic forms of representation, rooted both in Shipibo culture (Kené design) and in the language of conceptual and contemporary urban art, to give new shape to the city.

The first artistic project they undertook after the creation of the SÖI Collective was the SÖI Kené Collection, consisting of sixty small paintings on paper inspired by the various styles of Shipibo-Conibo Kené. The pictorial collection proposes variations on the xao, toró, tayan, mayá, and chompi Kené designs. The second project was a series of four murals, three of which were public and one private.
